House
Rules
These rules apply to all of the games I run, though each individual game may have a few special rules of its own.
Characters must be created using 4d6, drop the lowest die. Roll three sets of
scores and choose your favorite.
Characters all get maximum hit points at first level, and roll for each die
as they raise to their next level. If they choose, the DM can reroll for them.
If that second roll is made, the result stands even if it is lower than the
player's roll.
When taking a full day of rest, characters gain a number of HP equal to their
Constitution bonus in addition to the 1.5 HP per character level. If they just
take a standard "night's rest", add their Con bonus to their level
and divide by two, rounding down.
At the beginning of each session, every player is granted one Action Die. They
may use it to reroll any die once durring the session per Action Die. Players
may also earn Action Dice for especially cool things they do durring that session.
Action Dice do -not- carry over from session to session.
If
a character is dropped below zero HP, they must make a Fort save (DC 10 + any
HP below zero) or be at -2 to all hit, damage, and save rolls until they rest.
This includes crossbows, spells, etc... as the character was very close to death
and wasn't able to bounce right back.
Any attack roll of natural 1 results in a trip to the Shazbot
Table!
