Waylorn was a very powerful druid who could brew a poison so potent that just one drop could kill 40 men. He could also control the very forces of nature itself, but despite his vast powers, he had no clue how to take care of a child.
When Waylorn was finally at his wit's end the goddess Chauntea took pity on him, and gave him a vison of a family who would care for the child. So Lucian lived with this new family, and Waylorn would check up on him in various animal forms until the day came when laucian was old enough.
The druid came to Lucian and asked him to come and learn the ways of the forest. Relentless teasing and bullying because of his Half-Elf blood made his homelife miserable, so he decided the answer would be yes. It was during his training he came upon on wolf cought in a trap. Laucian freed the animal, and for some reason they have been friends ever since.
His life's journey eventualy brought him to the forests and small copses of trees around the city of Devarnish. This was where he met a young man by the name of Emil Dorne, who would frequent the groves in search of adventure and solitude. The two eventually grew to be friends over the course of many meetings. Upon hearing of Emil's grisly death, Lucian set out to the city despite all his fears to help avenge his friend's untimely demise.
