11-16-02: Attack of the Furniture

The party rests and heals up and “such not.” The party moves forward. Grunk, while searching for traps (with his face) we enter a kitchen and Aldar gets his ass kicked by a table. Qwand drops his axe. Kire drops the hammer down and we win again. DM made a mistake, table comes back to life, then Qwand kills it.

A search of the kitchen yields rusty pots and pans. We head to the closed doors (old store rooms). We head to the next door. It is locked. Inscribed on the door in Orcish “Beyond this door the maker of death is chained. May he gnaw on his own hate until the sun dies and all things end.” The door has been unlocked by Grunk. We enter warily. It is a Dwarven shrine.

“If there is a dragon in here, we leave.” -Grunk

Aldar senses evil in the room. Two 10ft skeletons form from bones scattered on the floor.. A skeleton his Grunk. An undead Orc slugs Aldar. Battle ensues.

“My sack’s been stiff since the bachelor party.” -Chris, on the Goldschalger spilled on his dice bag.

Aldar turns one skeleton and the Orc. Kire does an amazing hit on the Orc, and immediately after, Grunk hits the cowering undead Orc for a small amount of damage. Next round, Kire connects again and the undead crumples to the floor. We find a sack under the bodies. Grunk searches through it and finds 280GP and 2 Scrolls.

Carbuncle does some Dwarven chants and Kire helps with drum “accompaniment.” We go all the way back to the “rug room.” Kire almost starts rug on fire, but then doesn’t. Grunk disarms an alarm on the door as the party waits in the rug room. From the Persian rug room comes into an open room with big deep pool in the middle. Lots of cave ins. Look in smaller rooms find painting of the “mass”. Dwarves with helmets on chest, axes in a corner. Pews setup, etc; worshiping some Dwarven god of war. Grunk open the door #2 silently. –creek Room #2 bunk room, sacked, and skeletons. Kire casts sound burst and totally wipes out 2 skeletons and damaged 2. mmm pizza – feta-tastic Find a pouch on a corpse under a bed. Scimitar and pouch with 670SP.

“Skin A Tar Unsheathed: Dude, She Shaved!”

Room #3: 4 corpses on the floor. ??It happens a guess they would be Orcs.??

Room#4: A chair and a tiny rat

Bad door room: Try to get door open, latched but mechanism is gone. Qwand kicks the door open. Armory. Carbuncle find one armor dummy glows with magic. Carbuncle steps in and the dummy decides to say howdy. Ben used the new arrow rule: woohoo! “Be our guest! Be our guest! Put our magic to the test!”

Qwand slices the dummy in half. Dummy is dead.

Carbuncle casts light on grappling hook, which is tied to a triple long rope. Lowers rope into well. Well is over 150 feet. Brief discussion of illicit drugs ensues. Additional rope tied on. Well still has no bottom. Party loses interest.

Party decides to go down ladder by the waterfall. We climb 200’ down into the depths of earth. Discussion of doctor demento/dead alewives ensues. Party reaches bottom of waterfall. We follow river and cross a bridge. Chris and Ben begin wishing for powerful magic items. Path leads to rickety bridge near large pool. Aldar has rope tied to him so he can cross said bridge without worries. Bridge appears safe. Next the never ending path leads to stepping stones.

Green eyed beast head bursts from water – a snakelike head. Initiative begins, combat ensues.

Snake thing spits acid on Carbuncle and Qwand are hit.

Snake thing then sinks into water.

Leaps from water and attacks Grunk and Kire (the soft underbelly of the party)

Kire wusses out and says he is fleeing – steps back and vanishes.

Carbuncle sicks his celestial eagle on dragon (Black).

Qwand charges [not really –ed] it and misses.

Grunk crits dragon with a magic rapier. Qwand misses again.

Kire Crescendos. Celestial eagle rakes dragon.

Dragon bites Qwand and claws Grunk.

Aldar and Grunk hit dragon.

Qwand roles yet another 1.

Dragon flees. Cures are cast.

Dragon pops out of water and breathes on party.

Grunk dodges, Carbuncle is acid breathed. Again.

Carbuncle and Grunk attack dragon.

Dragon counter-attacks. People grumble about priest and rogues blocking fighters.

They step back 5 feet. Qwand rolls 4th “1” on d20. So much for the fighters.

Dragon mauls Qwand. (12 dmg)

Kire ice daggers dragon.

Qwand breaks his amazing streak and rolls a 5.

Carbuncle with a mighty flick, kills the dragon with a sling. We win!

Grunk and Kire find the treasure horde. Grunk goes Wooohoooo!! (on the inside)
